HYROX Denver 2026: Schedule, Venue, Tickets and How to Race at Altitude
HYROX Denver runs Nov 12–15 at the National Western Center, 1,609 m above sea level. Day-by-day schedule, tickets still open and how altitude changes your pacing.
Key takeaways
- HYROX Denver, the city's first HYROX, runs Thursday to Sunday, November 12–15, 2026, at the Stockyards Event Center at the National Western Center.
- Pro Men race Friday 9:40–11:20 and Pro Women Friday 11:50–12:50. Pro Doubles race Saturday evening.
- As of November 5, Men's, Women's, Pro and most Doubles spots were still listed for sale; Women's Doubles, Women's Relay and Adaptive were sold out (RoxRadar).
- Denver sits at 1,609 m. In a lab study, endurance athletes lost about 6.3% of their VO2max for every 1,000 m of altitude above 300 m, so start slower than your sea-level plan.
HYROX Denver is next week, and it’s the first HYROX in the Mile High City. It runs Thursday to Sunday, November 12–15, at the Stockyards Event Center at the National Western Center. If you’re traveling from Las Vegas or anywhere near sea level, the altitude is the thing to plan for.

Racing at 1,609 m: what changes
Velites’ Denver guide puts it simply: “Expect higher heart rate, quicker fatigue and slower recovery.”
The research gives a sense of how much. In a 2006 study in the European Journal of Applied Physiology, eight trained endurance athletes were tested in a pressure chamber at simulated altitudes from 300 m to 2,800 m. Their VO2max fell by about 6.3% for every 1,000 m, and time to exhaustion at a fixed hard pace fell by about 14.5% per 1,000 m.
Denver is about 1,300 m above the study’s 300 m baseline. On that straight line, that works out to roughly 8% less aerobic capacity. It’s a small lab study with a running-style test, and HYROX mixes running with strength work, so treat it as a guide to direction, not a prediction of your time.
How to pace HYROX Denver
- Start slower than your sea-level plan. At altitude, going out too fast costs you more later in the race. Use our pacing splits for every finish time as a sea-level baseline, then aim a little slower.
- Pace by effort or heart rate, not by your usual splits. Your heart rate will run higher at the same pace. A chest strap is more reliable than a wrist sensor during stations; see our heart rate strap guide.
- Respect the heavy stations. The sled push and wall balls can leave you breathing harder than usual. Take short, planned breaks instead of grinding to a stop.
- Arrive with time to settle. Check in early, find the Roxzone and keep your warm-up short and easy.
Race-week kit: A Garmin Forerunner 970 or Forerunner 265 helps you pace by heart rate, and LMNT electrolytes are easy to pack for travel. Our race-day bag checklist covers the rest.
Getting there
From Velites: Denver International Airport (DEN) is 25–35 minutes from the venue by taxi or ride-share. The RTD A-Line train runs from the airport to Denver Union Station, and several RTD bus routes serve the National Western Center. Driving, use I-70 and Washington Street; there’s paid parking around the venue.
