HYROX Race Week: Tampa and Abu Dhabi Go Head to Head (Oct 22–25)

Two HYROX weekends, two continents, one race format. Here’s your guide to race week.

HYROX Tampa: Tampa Convention Center

Where: Tampa Convention Center, 333 S Franklin St, downtown Tampa, on the river and walkable from the Riverwalk.

How big: Sara Ahuja, senior marketing manager for HYROX U.S., told WTSP that organizers expect about 18,700 athletes and more than 18,000 spectators. Academy Sports + Outdoors is also activating in Tampa as part of its new HYROX North America partnership.

When: Most listings, including the Tampa Bay sports commission, give Friday to Sunday, October 23–25. The City of Tampa’s event listing starts on Thursday, October 22, so check your own heat time on HYROX’s official event page rather than assuming a Friday start.

Tickets: Demand has been strong. On the race’s ticketing page, at least one Saturday 8:00 a.m. session was listed as sold out. If you’re still hunting for a heat or a spectator ticket, go through HYROX’s official ticketing only.

Why Vegas racers should watch Tampa

• It’s the 2026/27 rules in action. Watch how athletes handle the changes we covered in our rules explainer.
• Convention-center racing. Tampa, like Las Vegas at the LVCC, runs in a big indoor hall. Floors, sled friction and air conditioning all shape pacing.
• Travel lessons. If you’re flying into Las Vegas in March, Tampa is a preview of the logistics: early heats, hotel walks and finding food near the hall.

HYROX Abu Dhabi: ADNEC Centre

Where: ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. ADNEC’s own listing puts the race in Halls 7–10.

When: Friday to Sunday, October 23–25. Friday is a women-only race day: only female athletes and spectators are allowed in the venue. The wider field races Saturday and Sunday.

Divisions: Singles, doubles and relays are listed, with spectator tickets also on sale.

A women-only race day gives women the whole hall, athletes and crowd, for a day. It’s one of the most interesting ideas on the calendar, and worth watching to see whether more cities follow.

Also this week

• On the water: a HYROX training cruise is listed on hyroxexperiences.com for October 21–25, sailing from Palma de Mallorca to Marseille and Barcelona.
• Off the course: the Macau lookalike race story is still developing.

Racing this weekend? Three quick wins

1. Pace run 1 like run 5. Adrenaline in a packed hall makes the first kilometre feel easy. It isn’t.
2. Don’t stop on the sled. A slow, moving sled beats a fast one that keeps dying. Our sled push guide has the details.
3. Plan your splits before you travel. Use our split planner to set run and station targets from your goal time.

Good luck to everyone racing. We’ll add notable results here after the weekend.
