Centr's New HYROX Sled Blades: What Changes on the Sled Push and Pull
Centr has added replaceable blades to the official HYROX Power Sled so resistance stays consistent as sleds wear. What changes for racers, gyms and home training.
Key takeaways
- Centr, HYROX's official equipment provider, has launched replaceable blades for the official HYROX Power Sled. Worn contact surfaces can be swapped instead of replacing the whole sled.
- The sled keeps the same dimensions, weight and look. The goal is consistent resistance, not a lighter or heavier sled.
- The blades are being rolled out across more than 125 events in over 30 countries this 2026/27 season. Race weights don't change.
- The new blades fit only the new replaceable-blade sled, not the original fixed-blade Centr x HYROX sled.
The same sled weight can feel different from one venue to the next, and worn sleds are one reason why. Centr, HYROX’s official equipment provider, is tackling that with replaceable blades for the official HYROX Power Sled, announced on November 2.
What’s new
From endurance.biz and Rox Lyfe:
| Centr x HYROX Sled Blades | |
|---|---|
| What | Replaceable blades for the official HYROX Power Sled |
| Fits | The second-generation, replaceable-blade sled only |
| Sled size and weight | Unchanged from the original |
| Replace every | About 10,000 m of sled travel (roughly 30 days in a 200-member gym) |
| Rollout | More than 125 events in over 30 countries in 2026/27 |
| For gyms | A subscription for HYROX Training Clubs and affiliated gyms, with blades replaced by usage |
| Race weights | Unchanged |
The parts of a sled that touch the turf wear down. That changes how much drag the sled has, so the same station weight can feel different from one venue or gym to the next. Swapping the worn blades instead of the whole sled is meant to keep resistance closer to the same everywhere.
“We always hear from athletes that the sled stations are the most important ones to get right,” HYROX CEO and co-founder Christian Toetzke said. Centr CEO Andrew Sugerman said the blades focus on “performance consistency by improving the part that takes the most wear,” per Rox Lyfe.
What it means for racers
The race itself doesn’t change. Weights for every division stay the same: the sled push is 102 kg for Open women, 152 kg for Open men and Pro women and 202 kg for Pro men, including the sled. See our sled push guide for the full table.
Training sleds should feel closer to race sleds, at least in HYROX Training Clubs that sign up for the blade subscription. That’s the aim, not a promise: Rox Lyfe notes the change reduces variation from wear but doesn’t mean every sled will feel identical at every venue.
Don’t treat your gym’s sled weight as exact. Even with fresh blades, a sled at your gym may run faster or slower than the one on race day. Train the movement, the pacing and the 1 km run that follows, so you can adapt when the first length feels different. Our sled pull guide covers how to set up for the rope.
Can you buy the official sled?
Centr sells the Centr x HYROX Competition Power Sled directly. On November 4 its US product page listed the sled alone from $435, described as a fixed-blade design, at 50 kg (110 lb), holding about 150 kg of plates, and showed it as out of stock. the5krunner reported the replaceable-blade version at $535 on Centr’s US store; we couldn’t confirm that price on Centr’s page.
If you buy the fixed-blade sled, remember the new blades won’t fit it.
Home sled options
You don’t need the official sled to train the movement. Our gear page lists three sleds for home and turf training: the Torque Tank M3, the REP Fitness push/pull sled and the Titan Fitness Pro sled system. A sled on a garage floor won’t drag like a race sled on turf, so use it for strength and leg drive, and get race-feel sessions on turf at a HYROX gym.

A flat, grippy training shoe helps on the push, and gloves save your hands on the pull rope. See our best shoes for HYROX guide for more.

Quick answers
What are the HYROX sled blades?
Replaceable blades for the official Centr x HYROX Power Sled. The parts that touch the turf wear with use, so instead of replacing the whole sled, gyms and event crews swap the blades to keep resistance consistent.
Do the sled blades make the HYROX sled easier?
No. Rox Lyfe reports the upgraded sled keeps the original's look, feel and weight, and the aim is consistent resistance, not an easier or harder sled. Race weights are unchanged.
Can I put the new blades on my old Centr sled?
No. According to Rox Lyfe, the blades fit only the replaceable-blade model and can't be fitted to the original fixed-blade Centr x HYROX sled.
How often are the sled blades replaced?
Centr suggests about every 10,000 m of sled travel. For a gym with about 200 active members, that's roughly every 30 days.
