The best HYROX watch is not the one with the best GPS. All eight runs are indoors, where satellites barely reach, so the features that win are a reliable lap button, a readable screen and good heart-rate data.

What actually matters
- Lap time over distance. the5krunner advises turning GPS off for the race and using lap time, not distance, to judge each run, because indoor distance is unreliable.
- A footpod for real indoor pace. The same guide suggests a footpod such as STRYD, about $200, if you want accurate pace on the runs.
- A lap button you trust. You press it at every station exit, so a setup that lets you fix a double press is worth having.
- Fit and size. Sundried recommends a snug strap for better heart-rate readings and a low-profile case that stays out of the way on burpees and sled pulls.

Amazfit Balance 3: the most HYROX features
the5krunner calls the Balance 3 “the best and most featured HYROX watch you can buy today” and scored it 89%.
- HYROX features: a race mode for the 8 stations and 1 km runs, a PFT benchmark, a HYROX training library, virtual pacing, and singles, doubles and relay formats.
- Price: £369.90 in stainless steel and £449.90 in titanium in the UK. Galaxus listed the Balance 3 and Balance Ultra at about 370 to 600 euros.
- Battery: Amazfit claims up to 21 days and 41 hours of GPS. The reviewer estimated 7 to 10 days with real use.
- Drawbacks: GPS accuracy was average in testing, there were heart-rate dropouts on some outdoor runs, the 51.4 mm case is large for small wrists, and its app store is far smaller than Garmin’s.
- One caveat: the reviewer did not test the race mode’s automatic station detection and pressed the button manually in simulations.
Sources disagree on the partnership. the5krunner’s Garmin guide calls Amazfit the official HYROX partner, while Galaxus said the partnership was not confirmed.

Garmin: the biggest ecosystem, some setup required
Garmin offers about 4,000 apps to Amazfit’s roughly 500, according to the5krunner. The trade-off is setup. Its guide describes four ways to race HYROX on a Garmin:
- Cardio profile, GPS off: press lap at each station exit. The simplest option.
- Repeating multisport profile: an indoor run profile and a station profile that alternate. The author recommends it for higher-end watches such as the Forerunner 970 and Fenix.
- Custom workout: eight run and station repeats built in Garmin Connect. This works on cheaper Garmins, but a wrong press can knock it out of sync.
- ROXFIT app: a HYROX app on Connect IQ with about 50,000 downloads.
Garmin updates its watches often, so check for newer HYROX support before you build a profile.

Coros Pace 3: the light budget pick
Sundried names the Coros Pace 3 as a lightweight, budget-friendly alternative to the Garmin Fenix. the5krunner notes Coros has only limited HYROX multisport support, so expect the simple lap-button approach.
