The Spectator's Guide to HYROX in Las Vegas
Where to stand, what to bring and how to actually help your athlete on race day.
HYROX is one of the best sports in the world to watch in person. Everyone races the same course, the stations are close to the crowd, and you can see your athlete multiple times per lap. Here is how to make the most of it.
Know the race
Every athlete runs 8 × 1 km with a workout station after each run. Stations go in the same order for everyone: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. A first-timer will usually take between 1 hour 15 minutes and 2 hours.
Where to stand
- The sled lanes are loud and close. Stations 2 and 3 are where a cheer helps most.
- The wall balls are the finale. Get there early, because this area fills up.
- The run loop passes the same spot several times. Pick a corner and count laps for your athlete.
Help your athlete
- Ask for their wave time and arrive 45 minutes before it.
- Learn their bib number so you can find them on live results.
- Shout specific things. “Short steps” on the sled push beats “go go go.”
- Hold their bag and bring a recovery drink for the finish.
Vegas tips
The 2027 race is at the Las Vegas Convention Center, just east of the Strip. It’s huge, so wear comfortable shoes and expect a walk from parking. The Las Vegas Monorail stops at the convention center if you’re staying on the Strip. Bring a light layer, because convention halls run cold even when it’s warm outside.
We’ll add maps and parking advice to the race guide once HYROX publishes the floor plan.
